For those who are a bit confused about the “Seeds of Action” program (“the $10 money giveaway”)
This program was created to follow the biblical parable, where you take your talents and multiply them.(See the very first post below).
To simplify, the general idea was to take your ten dollars, multiply it with your talent, and return the (multiplied) ten dollars to Seattle Unity. In order to keep track of our prosperity successes, please earmark your contribution as “Seeds of Action” on the check or envelope you use.
Use this blog to exchange ideas and success stories.

Hmm… there is an old adage that says “if you aren’t confused you aren’t paying attention”. Well, I am paying attention and I am still confused! I hope I am wrong, but my impression is that the Seeds of Action program and the techology funding (i.e. the Casino Night) have failed to capture the imagination and enthusiasm of the congregation. I think it is too early to call the effort terminal, but it does appear the program is ailing. I was a little dismayed at Sunday service to hear Rev. Richard talk of the possibility of “letting go” of the Casino Night for lack of pre-registations. Of graver concern to me was the report of last Sunday’s offering which was less than 60% of target funds to meet budget. I suspect that was a function of Memorial Day attendance. However, the situation reminded me of an old time Unity concept “chemicalization.” The rather dated term was used to describe the situation when we set our intention and affirm something and seem to stir our mental pot and everything contrary to our expectation seems to rise to the surface. I know this happens in my personal life a lot of times when I try to change course by practicing spiritual principles, but have learned it is the very time not to lose faith, but to in fact persevere as the confusion is part of the process. I really want to see this technology drive to succeed and I hope there is a Plan B funding effort. I want Rev. Richard to have his toys ! I mean I love the green door and I use it symbolically as my own inner entrance to enter into my own quiet times. Just think what he could do with new whizz bang stuff! I think the ends (new technology) is something the congregation support, but the means (Casino Night) just isn’t congruent with the type of folks who attend Unity of Seattle. Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer as an alternative fund raiser. As for my own personal Seeds of Action contribution I am still struggling with how I will use my talents to multiply the coins. I keep hoping more folks will post there own stories here. I guess everyone is too busy to do that. I just may have to rely on another old Unity adage “Pray first…rather than last” for inspiration and divine ideas for my own program rather than relying on my own fruitless thinking. Regardless, I know it’s all good so there must be a lesson and solution to get us the technology. Danny
